Ages 6-9 and 10-13*

Location: Kevin Bell Ice Arena, Homer, Alaska

Cost:

Early Bird Registration at Kevin Bell Ice Arena in April: $100 off at-the-door price.

Full hockey equipment is to be brought by the participant (helmet with cage or shield, leg, hip and shoulder pads, mouth piece.) All participants must be USA Hockey Insured. Each participant must bring proof of insurance to the registration.

Each group will receive 10 hours of on-ice time with more off-ice instruction. Please see the ice-time schedule for actual hours. Participants will be taught power skating and puck skills by professional instructors from Canada. There will be a game played at the end of the camp for each age group. Off-ice training will include hockey specific dry-land training, a ball hockey tournament, and  Biblical values of character and treatment of others. All participants will receive a free shirt from the camp. The concessions stand will be open and all proceeds will go directly to the Homer Ice Rink. (If you would like to make a food donation, please contact YWAM Arctic Mercy at 235-9339.)

* We are allowing exceptions for players in each age-group. If you are younger than 6 and have previously been involved with hockey, or if you are older than 13 without much previous hockey experience and would like to learn, please contact YWAM Arctic Mercy at 235- 9339 for approval.

Instructors:

Glen Bueckert is the head coach and founder/director of YWAM Hockey. Glen played his minor hockey in Prince George, BC, then proceeded through Jr. A. in Pentiction with the Broncos and Major Junior with Victoria Cougars of the WHL. He coached BC junior league for many years in the Campbell River, BC Minor Hockey Assoc. He has over 30 years of hockey camp and coaching experience.

Glen brings assistants coaches and there will be other on-and-off-ice assistants from the Homer area.

Get your registration in early as this offer expires on May, 27th, 2011. Pay half now and the balance is due on the first day of the camp. Sorry, no refunds.

If you are younger than 6 and have previously been involved with skating, or if you are older than 13 without much previous skating experience and would like to learn, we encourage you to contact Rick Pitta at the Homer Ice Rink. He will determine if you are a candidate for this exception.
